The Details of Semi Rigid Card Shield

Description

Grading companies recommend semi-rigid holders for one reason: they protect during transit without trapping air or adding weight. Our Semi Rigid Card Shield refines the format with lab-grade PET that flexes just enough to absorb shocks and then rebounds to true flatness. The deep-throat design prevents card shift, while a precision crimped mouth holds sleeves in place—no tape required. Frost-edged walls reduce glare for easier verification by graders yet remain crystal-clear for display. Sized for seamless compatibility with Pull Tab or Base Sleeves, for a stress-free journey to PSA, BGS or CGC. When you’re mailing a potential 10, trust the shield engineered for the job.

FAQs

Is this a “card saver”?

Same format — “semi rigid” is the generic term for it. The shield is accepted by PSA, CGC and BGS for submissions.

Which sleeve goes underneath?

An Inner or Base Sleeve — never submit a naked card. Graders expect a sleeved card in a semi-rigid holder, and the tolerances here are calculated for it.

Why not use a toploader for a submission?

Graders reject toploaders: getting a card out of a rigid holder risks damage, so submissions come back or get delayed. Semi rigid is the format they ask for.

Does the holder stay flat after shipping?

Yes. The lab-grade PET flexes just enough to absorb transit shocks and then springs back to true flatness instead of keeping a bend.

Do I need tape to close it?

No — and you should not use any. The precision-crimped mouth holds the sleeved card on its own, which is exactly what grading companies want to see.
